And the winner is...

Felicia in Canada!

And everyone else who entered will receive a small "consolation prize" since there were only 4 people total.

I have said this before... I think there is a link between cat lovers and letter writers. All four entries listed cats as one of their loves!

Not too long ago I found these two lovely books at Goodwill. I thought I would share the lovely cat illustrations with you now...
so cute!

PENGUIN #10 My Man Jeeves

Adopted by Ksenia in Ukraine

Here is My Man Jeeves returned back to me, posing with one of my books!

Ksenia said "after I set my eyes on the first paragraph of Jeeves and Wooster I knew it was going to be a long term relationship."

She also comments that she is lucky to be able to read his works in English and that half the charm gets lost in translation.

Ksenia and I have both seen some of the wonderful "Jeeves and Wooster" tv show, starring Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry.

My boyfriend and I read books aloud together and we just finished the book you see shown last week.  It was a lot of fun.  Now we have moved on to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!

Thanks Ksenia!

My Cat & Mail from Slab City

The top card is from my mom and features our cat, Cotton, who passed away 2 years ago at 19.  He was such a sweetie, and I love that photo of him.

Here at the bottom is a letter from my friend Abby when she was in Slab City. The photo she sent shows Salvation Mountain with a mailbox in the foreground. If you peer closely you can see a letter that I sent Abby sitting on top of the mailbox!

The Giving Tree & Bunnies

I was really happy with this envelope I made for a swap-bot swap. My partner liked The Giving Tree. Such a wonderful book. The kind that makes me tear up.

I recently found out that my boyfriend has never read the Giving Tree! This must be remedied!!

Inside was bunny themed...

PENGUIN #9 As You Like It

Adopted by Erin

Erin says that As You Like It is the first Shakespeare play from which she "learned that it is possible to recite his works with meaning and beauty. (High school students renditions of Shakespeare rarely do his work justice... or at least they didn't in my class!)".

I think it's every class, not just yours. :-)

Her all time favorite is Much Ado About Nothing. Of the film versions I've seen, that one is my favorite too! I just love Emma Thompson in just about anything.

This postcard is one of my favorites because my mom actually has Shakespeare's plays in these editions. I was so happy when I found this in the box. I think the cover art is wonderful.

Thanks so much Erin for participating in my project!!!

Altered Playing Cards Swap, 2s

I recently joined an Altered Playing Cards swap on Swap-bot.  There are a series of swaps, this first one was just for the 2s. They will be going all the way through to aces. I'm excited to get a whole deck of handmade art cards!

These are the 2s I'm sending out.  It was my first time doing this. I'm so excited to see what I get!

And the packaging...
I love these scientist stamps. The background colors are so beautiful!

I got in a slew of returned "orphans" recently. I'll be posting more of those soon.

By the way, if you have adopted a postcard from me and have not had a thank you back from me, please re-email me your address. My email account ate them for some reason.
Thanks!

Outgoing Mail

A Pennsylvania Dutch get well soon card

I found a box of these remarkable cards a long time ago.

I think I only have two left now.

I wasn't all that happy with the front of this envelope. I think it would have looked a lot nicer if I had painted the background first. Live and learn though. :)

A card to PostMuse, and I finally sent along an add & pass that I received a while ago. I never know who to send them to!
