Whew. Long day.
It's my day with no classes, but I was still working hard. Worked on my presentation of Le Jardin des Plantes for my Paris: Capital of the 19th century class, and read more of La Curée (by Emile Zola).

No letters or postcards today, but Clay and I both got packages. We ordered  Ravens football t-shirts!
My first ever sports themed clothing. :-)
I also ordered a couple things on sale from L.L.Bean, including a very comfy soft green zip up sweatshirt. I haven't had a sweatshirt in forever.

So now it's back to the grindstone... reading more Zola, but this time in the comfort of my bed with a cup of tea instead of at the library. :-)

Monkeys and Tigers, Oh My!

I really love this combination.

My friend Dana made me several awesome monkey envelopes, and I got into a kick of sending them with the great "Save Vanishing Species" Tiger stamps.
You have to pay extra for these stamps, but the money goes to an important cause!

Am I ever done with Halloween?

Hello all,
So here is some more Halloween themed mail that I sent out/received!

 I included some of the faux postage I made in my letter to Misty.  I got that perforator and these are my first attempts at artistamps... I wasn't very happy with the look the perforator gave, so I think I'm going to keep experimenting.

Here are two of the stamps used on a homemade postcard.

 

I added glitter to the owl! I love glitter on cards. :-)

 And finally, my Cricket magazine came in the mail.  My parents got this for me when I was younger and I loved it and missed it so much that I bought myself a subscription this year. It has short stories, poems, and wonderful artwork.  And I love this Halloweeny cover for October!

My Bad

Got this letter returned to me attached to this nice explanation. The envelope I used wasn't high
enough.  But how nice. All I had to do was cut along the line and pop it back in the postbox.
Have you ever gotten one of these?

By the way, while I was gone I went to the Boston Aquarium with my mom and Clay.

I think seeing awesome aquatic animals and touching rays and sharks is a pretty good excuse for not blogging.  :-)
