The Welcome Home Pile

This gorgeous pile of mail was waiting for me to return. The pictures don't do it justice.

Here are just a few of the individual pieces:

For a swap-bot swap for the Hundred Acre Wood group, all about children's lit.  I love this envelope! And here are the contents:

Rusty sent me TWO letters while I was gone. :-)

She wrote one of the letters on this cool paper with the stages of the moon.

And here are the backs of the envelopes.
I love the zebra sticker!

Something is in the mail back to you right now Rusty!
My friend Dana sent me these awesome monkey envelopes that she made from a falling apart book.
Love them! Thanks so much Dana!!

More photos to come later.
Also... one of my blog readers recently wrote me a note saying that she wasn't able to comment on the blog.  I have also had this problem when trying to comment on other blogs that I read. Not sure why... but hopefully Blogger can fix it soon.
Anyway, comments are nice, but a note in the mail is nicer!
Feel free to send me a note via snail mail if you can't comment.
I will be happy to send you something back!

Return from Vacation!

I just got back home today from a 2 1/2 week vacation to New York, Wisconsin, Maryland and Pennsylvania!

Tomorrow I'll post some photos of the gigantic pile of mail that met me at home!

Meanwhile here are two little mail-themed tidbits I ran across in my travels:

Horse stamps from China that were framed and hung at the cottage I stayed at in Bayfield, WI (right on Lake Superior).

And an awesome Piggy Mail magnet at my friend Dana's apartment in Pittsburgh. She loves pigs.

Wisconsin Mail

Mail art envie, postcard and pencil to a friend who grew up in Wisconsin, while I was in WI.

...and more Wisconsin postcards. I love all the animals!
While there I saw lots of deer and a bald eagle.

Wedding Gift to my brother and his wife

I drew this using pencil then crayons and watercolors.  Cut out the map as a background and the green paper from a stash of scrapbook papers I have.  Bought a frame, put it together and voila!
They really loved it and I'm so happy! I still get nervous about my artwork sometimes. :-)

And here is the wrapping paper. I love wrapping things!
This is another sheet of scrapbook paper.

Stamp Dispenser

I was in New York for my brother's wedding and while there I went to a lovely place called the Farmacy in Brooklyn.  It sells egg creams, icecream, and lots of lovely goodies. My Aunt D treated me to a scoop of vanilla icecream with a delicious brownie!  In the bathroom of the Farmacy I found this sitting on the floor:

In Sanitary Folders??? I wondered.  Why would that be?
I came up with a reason that I think explains it, but I'll let you guess before I tell you what I think.
What's your guess?

*For tomorrow, a photo of my wedding gift to my brother and his wife*
